a couple of things to try..:1. it could be the cable check for any nicks, or scrapes.. if you find one put a little aluminum foil between the cable and motor then wrap the cable and foil with electrical tape..if this helps go get a new transducer.. this is a temp fix..
2. try sliding the transducer forward or back on the head of the TM.. it may be right over the magnets and moving it a little might help..
3. try another transducer.. the sheilding in your transducer or cable may have a break or may have been faulty from the factory..
4. depending on how old your TM is as a last resort, take the TM to a repair shop..
it may have one of the brushes going bad, or the internal sheilding may be bad...
