 TM/Sonar problem Reply  Edit

Ok I'm running a Lowrance 125 with a 55 # , 12 volt, power drive Minn kota . I have the units on seperate batteries also. I get a tonnnnnn of interference on my graph. Is there some kind of insulator, filter that I can install to help with this problem?
I'm guessing it is caused by the magnetic field from the Tm. I have no where else to attach the skimmer tranducer at other than around the Tm .

a couple of things to try..:

1. it could be the cable check for any nicks, or scrapes.. if you find one put a little aluminum foil between the cable and motor then wrap the cable and foil with electrical tape..if this helps go get a new transducer.. this is a temp fix..

2. try sliding the transducer forward or back on the head of the TM.. it may be right over the magnets and moving it a little might help..

3. try another transducer.. the sheilding in your transducer or cable may have a break or may have been faulty from the factory..

4. depending on how old your TM is as a last resort, take the TM to a repair shop..
it may have one of the brushes going bad, or the internal sheilding may be bad...
